Community Preservation Committee backs greenway study, extends bridge project

GRAFTON — Community Preservation Committee advances Blackstone River Greenway study. The committee backed a conditional $90,000 funding plan for a feasibility study of a continuous multi-use trail connecting Worcester to Providence, with segments in Grafton, supporting an alternative strategy to proceed if a $75,000 state MassTrails grant is not awarded. Additionally, the committee signaled strong support for a $10,500 historic restoration project by Engine Company No. 2 to conserve eight original 19th-century Currier & Ives firefighting-themed prints.
The committee's FY26 revenue estimate totaled $891,577, with a projected fund balance exceeding $1.2 million by October. The Treasurer's Report was unanimously accepted.
