Council on Aging Introduces New Director, Addresses Space Needs

Grafton Council on Aging introduces new director amid membership growth and facility concerns. The council unanimously approved prior meeting minutes at its March 12 gathering in the Grafton Senior Center with Chair Annette McCarthy presiding and members Ann Marie Allia, Liko Amano, David DeGrand, Joanne Pacella, Kathy Brown, Linda Woods, and Kathy Riley present. The board welcomed Stephenie Abate, the new Council on Aging Director.
Friends of Grafton Elders President Patti Hart reported 165 renewal memberships and announced "non-SNAP" fundraising for items not covered by existing programs. The council addressed overcrowding in the Bolack room, which creates safety concerns for people with mobility devices, and tasked Director Abate with exploring gym utilization for new activities.
