Planning Board advances data center moratorium to Fall 2027

Planning Board · Meeting of July 27, 2026

Grafton Planning Board advances data center moratorium through Fall 2027. The Board voted unanimously to advance moratorium language on large-scale data center development, intended to delay projects until the Fall 2027 Town Meeting or adoption of zoning bylaws; the Board discussed quantifying "small" operations and concerns over utility, noise, and parking impacts. The Board also unanimously directed staff to finalize language for an 11-member Master Plan Implementation Committee, including Planning Board and Select Board representatives with one-year renewable terms, to oversee the town's Master Plan implementation and coordinate with the Open Space and Recreation Plan.
