Trails Committee Discusses Charter Overhaul, Advances Trail Inventory

Grafton Trails Committee discussed charter overhauls and set deadlines for trail inventories.

Trails Committee · Meeting of August 25, 2026

Grafton Trails Committee discussed charter overhauls and set deadlines for trail inventories. Vice Chair Robert Winchell presented a prototype map for the Hennessey property, and the committee recommended refinements to parking descriptions, trail difficulty indicators, bridges, mountain bike and equestrian usage, and horse trailer access. The committee tasked Winchell with finalizing the Hennessey map by October, Chair Scott Hall and Sean Tatum with completing a Weber property audit, and Toby Frost with finishing the Great Meadows inventory.

The committee identified a core constraint: it lacked authority to implement trail maintenance and improvements; members discussed two potential structural reforms similar to models in Shrewsbury and Northboro.
