Charter Review Committee · Meeting of July 9, 2026

Grafton's Charter Review Committee heard first subcommittee updates and questioned the town's recall signature requirement. The Article 3 subcommittee said the charter requires 100 initial signatures and then 2,250 within 30 days of certification, more than vote in the average election. One member called 50 percent "a high bar." Members also took up a resident's request, relayed by Jim Malloy, to standardize board and committee terms, noting that the Traffic Safety Committee serves one year and the Council on Aging up to four.

Eleven of 15 members answered the roll call. The committee approved prior minutes with two abstentions and adjourned unanimously, with subcommittee work due by year's end.
