Registrars skip in-person early voting for 2026

Other Committee · Meeting of March 10, 2026

Grafton's Board of Registrars confirmed mail-only early voting and prepped for a March 17 Select Board presentation. Chair John Bonina told members he had already submitted a letter declining in-person early voting this year in favor of voting by mail, the only format decision the state required. A town clerk identified as Rachel reported 68 poll workers recruited so far, with training spread across six April sessions timed around the senior center's schedule.

The board set a walk-in voter-registration session for May 1, the deadline to register for the June 11 annual town meeting and town election, held on the same warrant. Members also discussed the board's state-mandated structure, in which the Republican and Democratic town committees submit nominee names for Select Board appointment; one member's term expires this month, with the Republican Town Committee having submitted names for that seat. The board approved its February 24 minutes and scheduled its next meeting for June 9 at 10 a.m., adjourning at 10:28 a.m.
