Finance Committee Requests Say in FY2027 Budget Decisions
Finance Committee · Meeting of February 5, 2026
GRAFTON — Finance Committee insists on immediate role in FY2027 budget decisions as town faces $1.4M deficit. In an 8-0 vote during Thursday's public hearing, the panel requested an immediate meeting with the Select Board to offer formal budget recommendations. Town Administrator Evan Brassard presented an $84.1 million operating budget proposal alongside cuts of $525,000 to town services and $1.06 million to schools, with a separate capital plan of $2.9 million.
The Committee also discussed potential savings of $86,000 through withdrawal from the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project, though any such move would require Town Meeting approval.
