Grafton Library Trustees Vote to Repair Failed HVAC System for Up to $5,500
Library · Meeting of June 24, 2026
Grafton library trustees approved an HVAC repair and advanced policy updates at their June 24 meeting. The Board of Library Trustees voted unanimously to authorize up to $5,500 for Renaud to replace a failed solenoid valve on the library's LG HVAC system, which had released all refrigerant onto the roof and left the building without air conditioning; the board also noted the prior $20,000 building and grounds discretionary fund had been fully expended. Library Director Katrina reported that the union contract has been ratified and awaits a Select Board vote expected July 7, and announced the hiring of Brendan Rogers as an 18-hour children's library assistant beginning July 6.
Trustee Stacy, newly elected chair of the policy subcommittee, reported the meeting room policy has gone to the union for final review and that the children's room unattended attendance policy will be revised to add grade-level language in time for the start of the school year. Digital circulation more than doubled year over year, and the FY27 building and grounds budget request stands at approximately $67,000 — up from $20,000 in FY26.
