Grafton Select Board backs road safety plan and expands traffic committee after four fatal crashes since February. The board voted unanimously Monday to endorse development of a local road safety action plan, direct Town Administrator Evan to begin road safety audits at priority locations, and support applications for state and federal Safe Streets and Roads for All funding, following an 18-page policy document Evan presented citing five fatal crashes in Grafton since 2016, four of them occurring since February 2025. The board also voted unanimously to expand the Grafton Common Traffic Study Committee from five to seven voting members, adding one dedicated seat for a Historic District Commission representative and two at-large members "with relevant experience." On the financial side, auditor Jeff Gendron of Tom Scanlon and Associates reported that FY25 free cash was certified at $6.8 million against a $78 million budget — up nearly $2 million year-over-year — with a 98.8 percent real estate tax collection rate that Gendron called one of the highest he had seen.

The board also received an informational briefing from Regional Health Director Annette Garcia on the state's new marijuana social consumption site regulation and agreed to hold a community listening session before taking any further action.
