Grafton Lands $119,000 State Grant For Energy Upgrades
Grafton has been awarded $119,000 in state grant funding for municipal energy upgrades, according to a Patch report today, while the town's News Flash urged residents to plan ahead for flu season and mosquito spraying continues across the community this month.

The town's News Flash reminded residents to stay ahead of flu season, flagging plans for an upcoming flu clinic aimed at helping residents get vaccinated before the fall respiratory illness season begins.
Separately, the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project will spray in Grafton on August 6, 13, 20 and 27 in response to resident concerns, though the town cautions these dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather.
The town is also seeking volunteers for a newly formed Grafton Common Traffic Study Committee, which will be responsible for developing a strategic plan for traffic changes and improvements at the Common.
SCHOOLS
Grafton Public Schools continues preparations for the 2026-27 school year, which begins August 26 for grades K-12. Sixth grade Chromebook pickup is scheduled for August 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. and August 12 from 8 to 10 a.m., both at the Grafton High/Middle School parking lot.

The Grafton Farmers Market returns to the Common on Wednesday, August 5, part of a weekly summer series that continues through late August. The Grafton Rec Concert Series also has a performance scheduled on the Common Thursday, August 6.
At the Grafton Public Library, summer reading programming remains underway under the "Plant a Seed -- Read!" theme, alongside the library's ongoing July Reading Challenge tied to the Massachusetts Center for the Book's 2026 reading initiative. The library also continues its weekly drop-in cribbage sessions on Fridays.
