Grafton To Treat Fisherville Pond For Invasive Water Chestnut
GRAFTON — Fisherville Pond will be treated with herbicide Thursday to control the invasive water chestnut that has spread through the pond, the town announced. Grafton officials are also asking residents to weigh in this week on which capital projects the town should pitch for federal earmark funding, and Grafton High School has a new director of counseling.
TOWN HALL
Fisherville Pond will receive a herbicide treatment Aug. 20 aimed at controlling the presence of invasive water chestnut, according to the town's official News Flash alert.
Separately, the Select Board is asking residents to complete a short survey identifying up to three priorities for a list of federal earmark requests the board plans to send to Congressman McGovern. Residents can also submit their own ideas through the survey.
The front entrance to the Grafton Senior Center remains closed while crews rebuild the ramp at that entrance, a closure that began July 27 and is expected to continue through the end of August; the associated parking spots are also unavailable during the work.
