Select Board closes 16-article fall warrant

Select Board · Meeting of September 22, 2026

Grafton Select Board closes 16-article fall warrant, presses schools over a late $200,000 request. Town Administrator Evan called the special education stabilization ask "kind of 11th hour," and Vice Chair Colleen Roy said "there needs to be alignment with this dollar amount prior to just throwing it on the warrant." The warrant also carries a $1.25 million health insurance deficit correction, a $525,600 land-sale transfer to capital stabilization, and $230,911 for sidewalk snow equipment. Separately, Public Works Advisory Committee Chair John Bichotte reported Grafton's pavement condition index has climbed from 76 in 2016 to 81 today under $1.25 million in annual road stabilization funding, and warned a five-year funding pause would erase a decade of gains.

The board also approved a Section 268A conflict-of-interest exemption letting Town Moderator Donna Anderson keep a part-time paraprofessional job at Grafton High School.
