Grafton Board Approves Cannabis Host Agreement
Select Board · Meeting of August 25, 2026
Grafton facilities report finds $4.2 million needed to fix town buildings. The Facilities Assessment Committee, presenting to the Select Board, put the town-wide repair total at $4,219,200, including $587,000 for the fire museum and $779,500 for the Grafton Historical Society's current South Grafton building. Vice Chair Colleen Roy asked about using Community Preservation Act funds to move the historical society into the vacant, well-maintained Nelson Memorial Library instead.
A presenter called the fire museum's preservation into question outright: "is it worth preserving the building?" The board also unanimously approved a host community agreement with Grafton Cannabis LLC for the former Discern Cannabis site, endorsed a local action unit application for affordable units at 1727 Upton Street, voted to lay out three Woodland Hill Subdivision roadways for town meeting, and appointed Jack Montana, Allison Brissett, Daniel Kolella and Catherine DeSealy to town boards and staff positions.
