Grafton Conservation Board Approves Emergency Septic Repair
Conservation · Meeting of August 25, 2026
Grafton conservation panel clears emergency septic fix, continues two larger builds. Meeting remotely with only three of five members present, the Grafton Conservation Commission voted 3-0 to issue an order of conditions for a failed septic system at 9 Indian Path, engineer Mark Santora calling it "an emergency request" after finding the original design sat within 50 feet of a hidden wetland. Homeowner David Miller said the failure "certainly stretched us financially" before a planned home sale.
The board also issued a certificate of compliance for 3 Leland Street and ratified a "friendly" enforcement order for 124 Westboro Road after a storm-driven erosion breach. Two larger projects, a 51,000-square-foot house and ADU build at 7 and 9 Meadowbrook Road and a geothermal system at 66 Brigham Hill Road, were continued to September 15 pending fuller stormwater engineering, the latter passing 2-0 with Commissioner Emma Coates abstaining. Chair Sandra Brock resisted waiving town stormwater standards, noting Grafton remains "an MS4 community."
