Library trustees approve Eagle Scout trail plan
Library · Meeting of March 25, 2026
Grafton library trustees unanimously back a teen Eagle Scout's trail project and adopt two rewritten policies. The Board of Library Trustees voted 7-0 to affirm the Select Board's endorsement of Liam Lyon's Story Book Trail, a $1,200, 16-podium reading path on town-owned Lot 89 behind the library. Trustees also approved, 7-0 each, a consolidated Collection Development Policy and a revised Volunteer Policy requiring annual CORI checks, the latter after a prior version died on a tie vote.
The board approved $27,047.83 in warrants and heard that a second HVAC quote came in near $50,000 with LEEDS grant funds exhausted. Trustee Roger Trahan Jr. said he won't seek reappointment as two seats open on the May 19 ballot. Proposals for a St.
Pauly Textile donation shed and an EV charger overhaul from East Coast Renewable Energy both stalled without a vote, referred for more review. "This is really kind of a big shift," Trustee Aaron Vandesteen said of the collection policy.
