Planning Board Overhauls Subdivision Regulations

Planning Board · Meeting of March 9, 2026

Grafton Planning Board adopts overhauled subdivision rules, loses planning director in same meeting. The board voted unanimously to adopt revisions to the town's subdivision control regulations, developed with consultant VHB, incorporating low-impact development principles and updated stormwater and ADA sidewalk standards. Planning Director Fiona DiMartino told the board she is leaving Grafton this week, with Assistant Town Planner Natalia Alward taking on more permitting duties during the transition.

Board member Michael Palermo abstained on a minor-modification request for a Verizon Wireless monopole at 58 Follette Street, saying "the Millbury and Sutton residents will benefit more from this tower than the Grafton residents." The board also approved a $346,000 bond rider for the Abby Woods subdivision and continued a Wyman-Gordon solar special permit hearing to March 23 amid decommissioning-bond negotiations.
